Our client is seeking a Business Development Manager, Hard Assets - Netherlands, Amsterdam (ref: J2027) to develop existing vendor programs and identify new opportunities to work with new vendors to promote their expansion into Europe (commencing with The Netherlands and Germany). You will offer tailor made solutions to both vendors and their end customers including leasing, vendor finance programs, wholesale finance facilities and cash management solutions.
Draft stragey and planning documents and develop forecasts financial objectives and business plans.
Identify new and develop existing vendor programs in Netherlands and Germany and wider Europe in which our client can add value by providing innovative financial solutions to vendors and their customer base.
Such financial solutions may include provision of Vendor finance programs (either directly or through 3rd party partner), offering end customer leasing facilities (either directly or cross border), financing of Managed Service Contracts (through purchase of receivables structure) or providing stock finance/cash flow management solutions to support business growth.
Manage the delivery of the financial solutions including initial transaction structuring, customer pricing, negotiation of customer documentation and pay out process while taking into account their individual needs and keeping the best interests of the client in mind.
Network to improve the presence and reputation of the brand and to act as an account manager for vendors and customers to integrate finance offerings to their solutions and increase penetration levels of our finance programs.
Work with colleagues across the various business divisions to develop products which meet the needs of the customer and promote cross divisional working.
Look for new ways to improve existing programs and solutions to add further value to client and its wider shareholders.
A self starter with excellent organizational skills.
Educated to degree level ideally in a related discipline i.e. Business Studies, Economics, Finance, Science, Law.
Preferably attained an industry recognised qualification (ACA, CMFA or AMCT etc) or a post graduate degree.
Minimum 5 years’ experience of working in a corporate sales environment within the asset finance industry in Netherlands, with roles that covered working with customers of varying nationalities.
Able to demonstrate experience and track record of dealing with vendors and customers on a long term relationship basis.
Knowledge of construction and materials handling sectors in both the Netherlands and European markets would be an advantage.
Understanding of vendor finance programs and 3rd party risk sharing structures is essential for this role.
The post holder will need to be able to confidently deliver presentations to MD’s, Board Directors and new customers as well as talk through the customer’s financials as part of the credit review process.
Have demonstrable commercial awareness .
Excellent written and verbal skills, this is essential when communicating to customers and when writing proposals and presentations.
Customer focused and results driven.
Excellent analytical skills in order to provide complex MI and interpret financial statements and make credit recommendations.
Good Excel skills to be able to produce detailed reports in a format that is easy to understand.
Self-motivated, with the ability to self-manage and use own initiative.
Fluent in English and Dutch. Knowledge of other languages would be an advantage.
We strongly favour applicants with proven relevant experience in Financial Services; particularly in Asset Finance and Leasing.
